Why do you self cath?

Is it a symptom of an ongoing illness/desease?
After an accident to the spine?
Do you have to cath now and then or are you in compete retention so you have no choice?
Or is it the case of you just dont know why...

After doing allot of research ive realised we all have this problem but for different reasons..

I have MS im in the early stages so who knows..I am managing so far so good!
